Ho! Ho! Ho!  Happy Holidays to our members, staff, and Board of Directors.

Early Winter 2007 Membership Newsletter
I am pleased to report that this has been an exceptional season once again for our club.  While many local courses reported that their play was down, and some showed losses, this was our best year ever!  Our membership numbers were high this year, as well as our daily greens fees.  An award was presented to us by the readers of the Adirondack Daily Enterprise for Best of the Mountains, and our members gave rave reviews about our facilities.  Special recognition goes to "Saint Barnes" and our staff and volunteers for their hard work and achievements.

MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
Enclosed with your mailed Newsletter you found the 2008 Golf Statement.  A Holiday Bonus comes early to our members as we have decided to disregard rising operating costs and extend this year's rates into 2008.  Give an affordable gift to golf this season by choosing the Early Bird Renewal, New Member, or 10-Play option; great for family, friends, co-workers, or retirees.

New for 2008:  We are developing a website with email and anticipate full operation by early next spring.  In an effort to reduce postage expenses, we request that everyone who regularly uses email to provide us with your email address.  Email recipients will receive newsletters and up-to-date info about tournaments, course closures, and member events.  Save Postage, Save Paper:  Clearly print your email address on your 2008 Golf Statement and you will only receive S.L.G.C. correspondence via email.  If an email address is not provided, we will mail our correspondence via USPS.

2008 Anticipated Projects
- Finish cart building doors:  purchase and installation of 6 new doors, plus plus
purchase of 7th door to use for parts/repair
- Pave 1st cart path from 1st Men's Tee to 1st Ladies' Tee (across brook)
- Upgrade heating system:  Purchase and install a new boiler and a secondary
hot water tank.  The existing boiler still works, however it is oversized for our
needs and is efficient based on fuel cost/consumption.  The addition of a second
hot water tank is necessary to accommodate intensive hot water usage during
busy events such as tournaments and banquet facility rentals.
- Finish #3 Tee Box, including grass seed and/or sod
- Replace overhead lighting in kitchen

It is with great pleasure that I announce that our new Board of Directors has been very active since their elections and they have provided many insightful ideas.  We have had very good attendance at our meetings.  If you have any suggestions or concerns, please feel free to contact any of us.

Executive Board:  K. Norton, President; L. Bourey, Vice President; R. Lewis, Tresurer; R. Wint, Secretary.
