Important Membership Information

Payments for Early Bird Memberships must be postmarked by April 1st. Applications received after 4/1 will be billed for the balance of a regular membership. We will assess a late fee of $25 for applications received after the following deadlines: memberships - May 15^th, cart storage - June 1^st. League players must pay memberships and cart storage in full before they can participate.

Announcements

Club Cleanup Day will be held on Saturday April 19th. Volunteers of all ages for inside and outside work are appreciated. There is much to do. Come help us get ready for the new season. Lunch will be provided.

The Driving Range will be open daily, weather permitting.

Staff will begin spring cleanup work in the second week of April.

Our website is up and running at saranaclakegc.org. Help the club save postage: provide us with an email address to receive newsletters, tournament announcements, and event updates.

Our daily greens and cart rental fees will remain the same in 2008, pending extreme changes to the economy.

We are developing a mandatory, on-sight safety and etiquette clinic for our junior members.

The following projects have been approved within the 2008 budget:

• A new on-demand water heater will be installed to meet the increasing needs of the clubhouse.

• New lighting will be installed in the kitchen.

• The final 6 cart barn doors will be replaced.

• 1^st Cart Path: Paving from men’s tee to ladies’ tee across the brook.

• 3^rd Tee: Sod will complete the addition of a new tee on the 3^rd hole.

• 7^th Tee: Cart path restoration from men’s tee to ladies’ 8^th tee across the brook.

The purchase of a new sand trap sifter is under consideration, pending the cost of the above projects.

Staff Updates:

Tony Barnes and Kelly Thoreck completed 5-hour TIPS certification in February. The TIPS (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) program was developed to educate bar and restaurant operators in alcohol beverage control standards. The training was sponsored by Franklin County DEA Derek Champagne, and facilitated by SLPD officer Bruce Nason. Mary Ann Savidge and Dan Hill will also be taking this training in the future.

Tournament Information

• A full tournament schedule will be available in May. If you are planning a tournament or golf outing, please contact the Clubhouse or Dick Schalm A.S.A.P.

• The Second Annual Vi McKay Golf Tournament to support the Saranac Lake Women’s Golf Assoc. will be held in early June. Please contact Kelly Thoreck if you would like to volunteer or sponsor this event.

• The Annual Father’s Day Tournament will be held Sunday, June 15th.
